European regulatory safety standards household appliances differences of external power supply

General electrical products common external power supply (commonly referred to as AC Adaptor), under a variety of product categories, respectively applicable safety standards:

• General purpose appliances: IEC/EN 61558
• Information products use: IEC/EN 60950-1
• Video Usage: IEC/EN 60065
• Home Charge: IEC/EN 60335-2-29

These product categories, the use of external power supply, although the appearance and size are similar, but there are other purposes, in their respective safety standards which, for the construction and testing requirements will vary. iii. not required (61,558)

4. The lightning test, only 60065.

5. High voltage insulation test (60950 / 61558 / 60065):
i.  Basic insulation: 1500 Vac / 1250 Vac / 2121 Vdc
ii. Supplementary insulation: 1500 Vac / 2500 Vac / 2121 Vdc
iii. Reinforced insulation: 3000 Vac / 3750 Vac / 4242 Vdc

6. Insulation resistance test (Only 60065 & 61558)
i.  Basic insulation: > 2M Ohm
ii. Supplementary insulation: > 2M Ohm
iii. Reinforced insulation: > 5M Ohm (61558); > 4M Ohm (60065)

7. plastic heat / fire protection requirements:
i plastic thermal stress test: in normal operation the highest temperature +10 ºC, is not less than 70 ºC (60065/60950)
ii plastic ball pressure test: in normal operation the highest temperature +15 ºC, is not less than 70 ºC (61558)
iii plastic ball pressure test support charged body:. 125 ºC (61558/60950)
iv plastic shell fire rating:. V-1 (60950)
v plastic hot wire test:. 650 ºC (61558)

8. Rated output voltage test (61558 only): Output voltage must be within the indicated value of + 5% to 15% range, depending on the type of   internal transformer varies.

9. No-load output voltage test, the measured voltage must be:
i. < 42.4 Vpeak, Or < 60 Vdc (60950)
ii. < 35 Vpeak, Or < 60 Vdc (60065)
iii. < 35 Vpeak, Or < 60 Vdc (61558)
iv. < 50 Vrms, Or < 120 Vdc (61558-2-6)

10. "Rated output voltage" and "no-load output voltage" ratio (61558 only):
i. 0 – 10VA: 100%
ii. 10 – 25VA: 50%
iii. 25 – 63VA: 20%
iv. 63 – 250VA: 15%

11. Limited Power Source Test (60950 only)
i. pass or fail without affecting the certification
ii. By this test may use the plastic housing HB grade
 

Third, the product-line plug part shall comply with the relevant standards:
1. General Requirements: IEC 60884-1
2. The European plug: EN 50075
3. Australia plug: Annex J of AS / NZS 3112
