January 25, 2013, the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) released on "Energy Efficiency
Ordinance 11 Revision memorandum (Memorandum D19-6-3). The memorandum articulate the
responsibilities of the Canada Border Services Agency and the Ministry of Natural Resources Canada
(NRCan) also provides that the control program of energy-consuming products into Canada.
These energy-consuming products mainly include: automatic ice machines, beverage vending machines,
ceiling fans and ceiling fan light device, coolers, dryers, washing machines, compact audio products,
compact fluorescent lamps, dehumidifiers, digital TV adapter dishwasher, dry-type transformers,
electric furnace, motor (1-200 HP/0.75-150 kW), electric cooker, electric water heater, the export
signal flags, external power supply, fluorescent lamp ballasts, freezers, gas boilers, gas fireplace,
gas furnace, gas stove, gas water heater, fluorescent General, General incandescent reflector lamps,
universal lamps, ground source or water source heat pump, integrated dryers, water loop heat pump,
large air-conditioning, heat pumps and condensing units, oil-fired boiler, oil furnace, the individually
packaged Central of fuel water heaters, packaged terminal air conditioners and heat pumps, sidewalk
module, refrigerated containers, refrigerated freezer and wine cooler one machine, vertical air-conditioning
and heat pumps of air-conditioned room, stand-alone group, self-service refrigerated freezer, individually
wrapped and three-phase air conditioning and heat pump, single-phase and three-phase split central air
conditioning and heat pump, TV, floor lamps, traffic signs, and video products.
Accordance with the requirements of the memorandum, the imports of energy-intensive products dealer
must provide the following information to NRCan through the CBSA:
By the name of the control product
Product Model
Trademark (if any)
Dealer address
Use imported products: no change in Canada, and to sell or lease the altered products in Canada and in
the interests of energy efficiency standards and to sell or lease.
These data must be included in the e-mail submitted to the CBSA on the product packaging interface
with other government departments. Even if the control products are assembled in other products inside
of the imported information is still applicable to the regulated energy-consuming products (for example:
as the motor of the crane, fan, heat pumps and other components or components as a fluorescent lamp
ballasts) .
