ICCP program for exporters or manufacturers to obtain CoC certification provides three ways, depending on the nature of their products customers, the degree of compliance with the standard, as well as the frequency of shipments to select the most appropriate way. CoC certificate authorized by the SASO SASOCountryOffice (SCO) or authorized by the PAI PAICountryOffice (PCO) issued handle
International Conformity Certification Program( ICCP) is a comprehensive plan implemented by Saudi Arabi’s Standard Organization( SASO) since year 1995. To ensure that imported goods fully complies with the Saudi product standard, controlled products are required to undergo conformity assessment, Pre-shipment Inspection & Certification. Three are three routes for importers or manufacturers to choose from. Applicants can choose which route to take in accordance to its product property, the extent of conformity, and frequency of shipping.
Route A:Pre-shipment Compliance Verification
This route suits exporters or manufacturers that sells at very little quantity. Prior to every shipment, Pre-shipment Inspection (PSI) & Pre-shipment Testing(PST)are required. CoC is issued for upon PSI and PST qualification is obtained.
Route B:Registration and Pre-shipment Inspection
This option suits the vast majority of customers. The advantage is although PSI is required, PST is not. Applicants should submit Letter of Conformity and provide a test report that complies with local/international standard to state that the applied product complies with standard requirement as well as country deviation. A Statement for Registration (SfR) will be issued upon approval.
Route C:Type Approval
This certification suits branded manufacturers or customers that ship goods very frequently as applicants can benefit from the time and effort saved for not having to undergo PSI and PST for every shipment. PSI could be reduced to 2~3 times per year, depends on the product status. Only Applicants that fully comply with the mandatory standards will receive a Statement for Licence (SfL).
