The IEC 60601-1-11 standard, prepared by the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC), part of the International Standards Organization (ISO), describes basic safety and performance standards for medical electrical equipment and systems produced for home health purposes. This standard applies to all types of electronic medical equipment used in the home, regardless of whether the medical electronic equipment or system is designed for use by professional operators or trained health care personnel.
